Savory Scones, Superb w/ Soup:

Turkey Bacon Cheddar Scones

1 Package Godshall’s Fully Cooked Turkey Bacon, Chopped
2 Cups unbleached flour
1 Tsp salt
2 Tsp sugar
1 Tbs baking powder
4 Tbs butter
1 Cup grated cheddar cheese
1/2 Cup snipped chives
1/2 Cup diced scallions
7 oz. heavy cream

Makes 8 Scones

Preheat the oven to 425°F.
Grease a baking sheet.
Whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar.

Mix butter into the flour until the crumbly.
Add the cheese, chives, and turkey bacon until evenly mixed

Add 1 cup of the cream, mixing thoroughly.
Add more cream until mixture is held together nicely.

Pat dough into a 7″ circle about 1 inch thick .
Transfer the dough to baking sheet.

Chop dough into 8 wedges.

Brush the wedges with a little cream, to help brown.

Bake scones for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.

Serve warm.
